At Chicago Heights Church of the Nazarene we believe in our next generation of believers, leaders, and citizens. As a church, we do not see our teens as ‘the mistake makers’ or the ones who need all of the help- we recognize their value in the Kingdom of God and the beneficial role they play in our church (1 Timothy 4:12). It is a priority for our church to invest in the lives of the youth of our community, by introducing them to the Gospel and coming alongside them during these highly impressionable and challenging times in their lives.
Our youth ministry program, Cultivate Youth Ministries, is made up of students in grades seven through twelve (age 13-18), and is committed to loving God, loving others, and serving the world. We believe that a entering into a relationship with Jesus Christ is the best decision that anyone can make, and know that following Jesus with your peers can be one of the most rewarding and life-changing experiences anyone can have. Our youth program operates to make this a reality for our teens.
Our weekly Bible studies take place on Sunday mornings at 9:30am, and on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm-8pm. During our Wednesday night service, JOURNEY, we set aside time in the middle of our week for prayer, worship, and learning about the Word of God. Throughout the year, we also participate in youth retreats and camps, in addition to having movie nights, playing basketball, and just hanging out with each other at the church. We value the time we spend together in community, all the while growing closer to Christ as a group. All are welcome and invited!
